The Hunt

The day after Thanksgiving we went up to the mountains to hunt down our Christmas tree. If you've ever seen our tree, you know it's quite an endeavor to find one that's big enough and then another feat to get it on the truck and home (let alone in the house)!

Thanksgiving '08

We spent Thanksgiving at Geoff's parents' house with his sister's family and my parents and Miki. It was fun for Tyler and Cole to play with their cousins. Geoff's brother's family is in Montana this year. They were missed.

Neighborhood Party

We had a little impromptu neighborhood street party Saturday night. It's so fun to get all the kids together to play and of course, fun for the adults to chat as well! There were 11 kids having fun together!

We even had sparklers and a couple of fireworks!

Great Granny's Birthday

We went to visit Great Granny for her 95th birthday (I think)! This is Geoff's grandmother on his father's side and our kids' only great grandparent!

Fun Friday

Friday is our free day this year. It's the day that we have no school, classes, etc. to be at, so we decided to head out to the Children's Discovery Museum. We took light rail again which is always a hit with Tyler and Cole. We met Auntie Miki for lunch outside and then went to see the "Ball Machine" outside the Tech Museum. Tyler and Cole really wanted to visit Auntie Miki at her work, so we walked over to her building in San Jose. Tyler noticed a huge address number that was a 5 and wanted me to take his picture with it since he's 5.

...and of course, then Cole wanted his picture with it as well.

In the spirit of my holiday kick, we decided to make turkeys out of oreo cookies and candy.

Fall Fun

Tyler and Cole really enjoy raking the leaves in our front yard. We were planning on making huge piles of leaves to jump in, but while raking, I stepped in a lovely pile of poop and wasn't sure which pile of leaves it was in, so that was the end of that!

Meeting Our Cousins

My cousin, Rob and his wife, Jenn came out from Oregon with their kids Leah and Kai. It was our first time meeting Kai. So cute!

Cole especially enjoyed playing puppets with Jenn and Leah!

Rainy Day

Our first real rainy day came on a Saturday, so we put on our raincoats and rainboots and grabbed our umbrellas to go puddle splashing!
